Electronic Railway Technician

Location: Dublin [Dublin]

Job Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Trade qualified technician.

Duties will involve providing operating and maintaining high spec machines in the field.

This position starts at 30K but fully trained operators can expect to be on a salary of up to 70K within up to 3 years. Full in house training is provided as this is a highly specialist position although applicants must already be trade qualified as a minimum.



Roles / Responsibilities:

Machine operational duties, in addition basic fault finding over the range of supplied equipment and systems.

Good analytical skills, decision making, communications and ability to work under pressure through client time constraints, accurate technical fault

Reporting skills will also be a requirement.

To include; Pro-active and re-active maintenance ensuring compliance to legal and contractual obligations, maximise machine productivity and reliability,

Range of systems to maintain ; Operational, Mechanical, Pneumatic , hydraulic, electrical, and  electronic measuring control systems.

 



Skills / Experience:

General: Health and safety at work (Field and Workshop)

Mechanical : Bolt/Fastener type identification, gear assembly and rotation, types of steels in use, engineering drawings

Hydraulics : Types of pumps, motors, BS ISO standard drawing symbols, basic hydrostatic drive circuits

Pneumatics : BS ISO standard drawing symbols, basic actuator circuits, actuator assembly components

Electrical : Basic electrical circuits, BS ISO standard drawing symbols, applying ohms law, relay logic circuits

Electronics : Basic formulas, types of parallel-series resistor network circuits, analog amplifiers, digital circuits, PSU¿s.



Education / Professional Qualifications:

Minimum, apprenticeship time served candidates, with necessary proven background in all relevant disciplines. (Mech/Electrical = latter most important)

HNC or equivalent would be advantageous for the right candidate, in addition intermediate IT skills are also a requirement.

 Candidates must be prepared to undergo regular competency assessments.
