Job Description:
Purchasing Manager, Wexford
A permanent opportunity exists in this leading manufacturing facility for an experienced Senior Purchasing Manager.
Sitting on the Senior management team and with approximately 12 direct reports, this person will have overall responsibility to ensure the best total value for all purchased goods/services.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain commodity strategies focussed on supplier quality delivered on time
- Responsible for supplier base, forecast spend and development budget in accordance with targets
- Operational contract responsible for defined suppliers by category manager
- Documentation base for suppliers and assessments of local supplier base
- Management of the supply chain team to optimise team performance and objectives to include training & development
- Negotiate and sign contract with suppliers
- Propose sourcing opportunities and work closely with Manufacturing and R&D.
Requirements:
- Applicants must hold a 3rd level qualification in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
- 5 plus years experience within a Purchasing Management role idealy within a high volume manufacturing environment
- Proven ability in development and leadership of a team
- Must be driven, self motivated have excellent PC skills to include experience in ERP systems
