Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Description:

Supplier Quality, Group Leader

 
1. Responsible for management of incoming inspection of received materials and the subsequent disposition of any identified nonconforming materials via incoming inspection or production.


2. Responsible for the management of impact assessments and acceptance of material qualifications for new materials and/or suppliers.


3. Responsible for management of supplier audits, planned and unplanned, ensuring all audits are conducted as per plan and audits are closed out in a timely fashion as per governing procedures.


4. Responsible for ensuring supplier quality risk management.


5. Responsible for monitoring supplier performance and ensuring the appropriate triggers are in place to escalate issues; Ensures any corrective and preventative actions taken internally or by suppliers are closed in a timely fashion as per governing procedures.


6. Responsible for driving supplier quality performance to target levels.


7. Responsible for working on supplier quality related initiatives identified each year.


8. Responsible for supervisory roles including the following:


a. Implements a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources.


b. Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal written and verbal performance reviews.


c. Monitors daily work operations and provides direction and guidance to lower-level supervisors, experienced exempt employees, or skilled non-exempt staff to achieve unit or project goals.


d. Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures.


e. Interprets and executes policies that affect work processes and personnel within the assigned organizational unit.


f. Contributes to the development of operational policies and procedures that affect personnel within the assigned organizational unit.

 
g. Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations etc).

 
h. Monitors internal and external indicators by reviewing reports and newsletters, reading organizational literature, meeting with peers and reading departmental reports.

Experience/Education

 Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Advanced degree preferred.
