Senior Planner

Location: Cork City [Cork]

Salary: €50000 - €60000 Per Annum

Our client is a leading healthcare multinational with a significant manufacturing presence in Cork


Job Description:

The Senior Planner will performs senior-level Production Planning activities which will include: planning production volumes and priorities based on real customer/stakeholder requirements, while ensuring that the necessary materials for such plans are always compliantly available to support optimum production flow. As a senior role providing mentoring and structure for more junior members of the materials function is expected.



Roles / Responsibilities:

  • Fostering a culture of compliance by operating within guidelines and procedures, leading by example, and focusing on risk assessment & elimination.
  • Driving both the long term and short term capacity plans for each Manufacturing line. Always representing the customer internally.
  • Managing Material Supply to ensure Manufacturing commitments are achieved as well as Corporate and Plant objectives. Providing timely and appropriate Material availability information to internal customers.
  • Aligning inventory with Plant objectives and targets to ensure Inventory is optimized.
  • Project managing issues / assignments / New Product introductions / Continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Communicating via data / metrics / reports / relationship building - both internally and externally.
  • Providing mentoring and training focus for more junior team members.


Skills / Experience:

  • Ability to produce relevant and well presented analysis.
  • Familiar with process steps to introduce New Products to manufacturing/ co-coordinating inter-site transfer activity.
  • Ability to use project planning tools to determine timelines and schedules
  • Understands Lean planning and execution techniques.
  • Makes good decisions based on a mixture of analysis, experience, wisdom, and intuition.
  • Makes decisions in a timely manner; sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines. Able to make sound decisions under pressure. Sought out by others for advice and solutions.
  • Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.


Education / Professional Qualifications:

  • Primary Degree Qualification with APICS, plus 4 years relevant experience in a Materials environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP systems with SAP experience preferred
