Assistant Production Manager

Location: County Cork [Cork]

Salary: €40000 - €45000 Per Annum

• Lead the promotion of safety within all areas including the ongoing identification and resolution of safety issues
• Provide leadership and motivation for the personnel in the area
• Participate in the overall management of the Department
• Coordinate workflow between various areas of department.
• Chair weekly team meeting with all personnel to keep informed on production plans/issues and to discuss ideas/concerns.
• Implement actions identified as part of the internal audit programme.
• Manage hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the areas.
• Daily scheduling of production volumes in various areas
• Ongoing adjustment of production plan to take account of changes as required.
• Plan manning levels to cover production plan, holidays and other leave
• Plan downtime, maintenance and scheduled testing
• Initiate and support ongoing improvement / cost reduction activities.

• Strong awareness of GMPand Health, Hygiene & Safety requirements#
• A minimum of 4-5 years experience in a similar role in a regulated food manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication and team management skills required.
• Experience in high volume cheese manufacturing would be an advantage.

• Degree in Food Science, Science or related area.
