A leading Healthcare company require a European head of EHS
Job Description:
Provide expert advice and technical guidance for EHS programs throughout ANSC EU operations to achieve compliance with external EHS regulatory requirements and the internal EHS standards by being current on emerging technologies and regulatory issues that impact ANSC plants and providing innovative, achievable, and practical solutions to ANSC operations
Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for EHS performance and compliance through active participation and support of Abbott's EHS Program
Facilitate communication within ANSC to better leverage knowledge and the sharing of ideas
Function as a conduit of information between the operating facilities and EHS management at Site, Division and Corporate levels
Provide assistance with EHS projects/program development, EHS assessments and resulting action plans; and complete identified actions in accordance with identified target dates
Roles / Responsibilities:
Develop and conduct safety and environmental training
Interface with Corporate, Division, plant and community organizations/agencies regarding safety, environmental and health issues
Initiate and submit the appropriate reports as needed/requested
Conduct incident investigations and develop corrective actions
Identifies and quantifies EHS risks and their consequences relative to overall business goals and recommends appropriate actions
Recognizes and responds to changing trends, market conditions, regulatory legislation, etc., evaluates and integrates the information to define potential affect on the plant
Skills / Experience:
Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements
Five to twelve years experience in environmental, health and safety is required
A minimum of two years supervisory experience is requested
This individual must possess sound judgement and problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal and consulting skills, good organizational and computer skills, consistent customer orientation and a multi-disciplinary function
Responsible for initiation, prioritization and assignment of EHS projects within the facility
Responsible for the overall EHS performance of the facility
Coordinates the investigation of serious accidents
Accountable for internal and external audits and inspections
Accountable for the facility EHS plan, site EHS procedure accuracy, effectiveness and implementation
Education / Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Science or related discipline
Master's degree preferred
