Our client is is an Irish based internationally focused dairy ingredients provider with sales of ¿500M to over 30 countries worldwide. Its key strategic focus is providing solutions to the Infant Milk Formula sector and to ingredient cheese users including manufacturers of ready meals, pizzas, soup, sauces, processed cheese and desserts. In order to deliver on its growth it now wishes to recruit a Senior Scientist with an expertise in the infant formula sector. The role will be based in Cork.
Roles / Responsibilities:
- Driving a product development programme to deliver revenue and margin objectives in the sector through satisfying customer needs.
- Developing capability and resources within the infant formula sector in order to deliver revenue and margin targets.
- Translating feedback from infant formula customers on their ingredient needs into project and product concepts and executing the resulting projects efficiently. This will include scale up to commercial production.
- Developing new technologies in line with the emerging needs of the market sector. This will include significant interaction with Food Health Ireland, a Cork based research consortium with a major focus on the IMF sector in which our client is a significant stakeholder.
- Interacting with Quality, Operations and Supply Chain functions to ensure that the demanding standards of this sector are understood and adhered to.
Skills / Experience:
- Strong research/development track record in a commercial environment in the infant formula sector.
- Results driven with a strong business acumen Enthusiastic self-starter with excellent time management, planning and organizational skills.
Education / Professional Qualifications:
- Masters degree qualification in Food Science/Nutrition/Food Engineering
- Applicationations are alse welcome from PhD graduates in the Food Science area.
