Packaging Specialist

Roles / Responsibilities:

Creation, change and control of all labelling and packaging components to support manufacturing and packaging in the plant.
Ensure all labelling and packaging components meet performance and healthcare standards
Interacts effectively with materials management, quality assurance, engineering, and regulatory affairs groups to provide input into the packaging and labelling configuration/labelling options.
Assists in the review of packaging/labelling documentation.
Writes, reviews, and updates SOPs required for packaging/labelling activities to ensure GMP compliance. Works with Quality Assurance and Engineering to resolve quality related issues with packaging and labelling vendors.
Liaise with sister divisions to ensure a consistent approach to labelling and packaging. Communicate with various departments within GSL on packaging related projects.

Skills / Experience:

Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
Well developed computer skills and strong organisational skills are required.
Proficiency with packaging design, processes and technologies preferred. Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiative with limited supervision.
Must be able to write clear, concise and error-free documents.
Must be able to exercise judgment within well defined and established procedures and policies in order to determine and take appropriate action. M
ust possess a full working knowledge of the FDA, cGMP, and packaging standards. Understanding and experience with published environmental testing procedures.

Education / Professional Qualifications:

Typically requires a BS degree or diploma in science field preferably, Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging Engineering or Industrial Design, or related scientific field.
A minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience preferably in development, manufacturing or a packaging related role.
