Operations Manager EHS

Location: Cavan [Cavan]

The successful candidate will provide overall leadership, direction and support in all aspects of Plant Environmental Health and Safety.
Work closely with Division and Corporate to implement Environmental Health and Safety initiatives.
Ensure Plant compliance with EHS policies and standards. Support move to zero programme..
Champion Plant initiatives to conserve energy and reduce CO2 emissions.
Develop and manage internal EHS audit programmes.
Ensure Plant operates to highest standards in all aspects of EHS and maintain Plant compliance to ISO,EN standards etc.
Liaise with auditors both internal and external.
Develop and manage the site's Business Continuity contingency planning system.
Act as support to Plant Operational areas including the leading of the BEx function
Coordination, identification and management of the Plant's CIP programme
He/She will be responsible to drive compliance to EHS legislative requirements



Job Description:

He/She will be responsible to drive compliance to EHS legislative requirements and programmes to strengthen plant activities in this area.
This individual will be primary contact for managing IPPC Licence, Emissions Trading and ensuring all controls are maintained.
The successful candidate will also manage some plant projects across all functional areas of the plant including Quality, Laboratories, Processing, Packing & Materials as assigned by the Site Director
He/she will also provide relevant training in the area of EHS and to ensure strong EHS ethics and quality compliance is maintained.
Maintain awareness of changing business conditions and actively develop contingency plans, these changes include awareness of European and Irish legislation.
Maintain good communication links with affiliate personnel, corporate, division personnel, outside agencies, government officials and local communities.



Roles / Responsibilities:

The EHS and Operations Support Manager will be required to demonstrate outstanding leadership skills and managerial presence to effectively lead the organization in the area of EHS and plant support.
He/she will have the ability to manage and lead multiple projects and ability to work in a demanding and challenging environment

Skills / Experience:

Skills/Experience Requirements 5 years relevant experience in Manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of environmental and safety legislation
Knowledge of water treatment and effluent management
Broad exposure to business functional areas.
The ability to organize, motivate and lead people.
Strong analytical ability
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects effectively
Education Requirements Bachelors Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent discipline
